Instructor’s
Profile: Amos Wu
Amos
Wu started training Tiger Crane
Combination Kung Fu in the sprawling grounds of Singapore’s
Whitley Community club in the late 1990’s. The
classes run by Master Tan at the community centre
started well with
over 10 very enthusiastic students training in the class, but
unfortunately due
to the hard work involved in maintaining their training the number soon
dropped. Eventually Amos remained the only man standing, which was no
mean
feat.
Amos
had previously trained in Taekwondo
but feeling dissatisfied felt the need to look for something else, and
found
Master Tan. In his training Amos prefers using long weapons such as the
Zhan Ma
Dao, or Horse Cutting knife, and Tiger Fork. He has completed his
training in
the 11 basic hand forms, and continues to train and help teach at the
club in Singapore.
Amos
is currently an educator in the high
–stakes education sector in Singapore,
and trains part time in his other love, which is Traditional Chinese
Medicine.
The
combination of his training in both
traditional Chinese Martial Arts and Chinese Medicine underlines
his
commitment
to preserving his Chinese heritage and treasures.
The
members of the Nam Yang Pugilistic
Association would like to congratulate Amos an his wife on the birth of
his two
twin daughters!
